Ordo processionis quotidianae antiphons?
Does anyone know anything about the chants for the antiphons of the Ordo Processionis Quotidianae in the 1925 Ordo Processionem quae Hierosolymis in Basilica S. Sepulcri D.N. Jesu Christi? I'm curious to know if there's music for them or not. I can find a few of the antiphons, but I don't know if they were just spoken or psalm-toned or sung. Thanks for any help.

Podatus initio debilis in Gregorio
The Gregorio website (http://home.gna.org/gregorio/gabc/details) states:
However, following these instructions does not result in something resembling the example given on p. xii of the Liber Hymnarius of a regular podatus initio debilis. The note head is facing west rather than east. It is possible however to render the augmented liquescent correctly.
Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions?
In the Solesmes hymnary of 1983, two new notations were introduced: the pesquassus and the podatus initio debilis. The first is written using an o after the first note, as it is an oriscus, and the second is written logically with a - before the first note.
However, following these instructions does not result in something resembling the example given on p. xii of the Liber Hymnarius of a regular podatus initio debilis. The note head is facing west rather than east. It is possible however to render the augmented liquescent correctly.

Special tone for Easter Gospel?
Hi there folks,
Has anyone ever heard of a special tone for the Easter Sunday Gospel in the extraordinary use? If so, where can the music be found?
Thanks!

The Graduale Parvum Mode 5 Psalm Tone Question
I am considering using the Graduale Parvum. The assigned Psalm tones seem to match the antiphons, except the Mode 5 tone which is in a different key from the Mode 5 antiphons. Does anyone have an idea as to what key I would transpose the Mode 5 psalm tone? For example, #123, the Communion antiphon for the "Feast of the Presentation of the Lord", seems to be in the key of D (though the key signature indicates G) but the Psalm tone begins on F natural. I have attached images of the antiphon and psalm tone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nocturnale Romanum is available
Occasionally forum users ask if the Nocturnale Romanum book (2001) by Holger Peter Sandhofe is still available for purchase, so I sent a note to the publisher Christof Schroeder. He has closed his publishing firm and on-line store, but still has a few dozen copies of the book left for private sale. Interested readers wishing to buy a copy can contact him at the e-mail address cns at hartker.com . (And feel free to write in English.)

Dilexisti iustitiam in the Graduale Novum?
Hey, there:
I have to use the Graduale Novum on line, as I have a bunch of other music expenses and can't spring for a printed edition. I can't find the Introit Dilexisti Iustitiam. If anyone has a desk copy, would you mind locating it and telling me where it is. Perhaps my German is not good enough, as in the Triplex it is just under "Commune virginum," and I don't see a slot for that at grego-und-taube.de
I suppose it may not be in the online Materialien.
Thanks.

Lauds and the Liber Usualis
Sorry for sounding like a complete newbie, but I'm only starting to become familiar with the Office in the Extraordinary Form.
Is there no Order for the Office of Lauds in the Liber Usualis? I can only find the order of Lauds for Feasts, and still it is very confusing (i.e. there is no chant music, only text). If it is in the Liber, where can someone tell me? In the same way I can see Sunday at Vespers, Monday at Compline etc. but No Lauds! Why is that?
Is there a seperate book that should be used for Lauds? I notice that alongside the Mass Propers, the antiphons for Lauds are in the Liber, but I can't find the actual Office of Lauds itself! Help me!
Many thanks!

New Gregorian Chant Documentary
I am considering creating a documentary about Gregorian Chant. This documentary would show the beauty of chant by exploring these topics:
1. What are you suggestions for this project?
2. Let me know if you would be interested in becoming involved.
- History, why Chant matters, importance for the modern world
- The relationship between Chant and the Liturgy
- Modern problems with Chant
- Modern Chant scholarship
- Who are some of the important singers of Chant in the world right now?

What's an incise?
I am beomcing conversant with St. Gall/Laon notation, working through all the serious books, and realized all of a sudden I am in fact not sure what an incise is. As that is sure to be a question that someone might google, I put it up as a question.
Honestly, on reference seems to be using it differently than another, so as helpfully as you can...
Thanks.

Unfortunatey it's in modern (stemless) notation. If anyone would like to type-set this in neums they'd be more than welcome to. Also, feel free to critique - I haven't done many chant adaptations before.

Golden Rule for breathing in Chant
Hey, there:
What exactly is the Golden Rule for breathin in Chant? I have heard it referred to that way, but it is not in my books in that form. I sent a more complex thing on breathing to a young schola leader, but that one I wanted to particularly highlight.
Thanks.

Free Materials for Introductory Gregorian Chant Workshop
For your free use, I am making available for download the materials I use to teach an introductory workshop on Gregorian chant. There is a full presentation that goes along with a guidebook/handout.
I've done this workshop twice now with great success. The instructional time is around three hours with a break in the middle. It covers the basics needed to get anybody chanting in English and basic Latin.
The materials are shared in a public Evernote notebook where I'll keep the materials update and put new stuff when I can get to it.
Have fun and please let me know if you have any questions!

Gregorian modes and psalms in the Divine Office
In preparing the Divine Office at the seminary, I have introduced a few gregorian tones during our solemn, chanted lauds and vespers. (The psalmody has been customarily set to Mundelien, Meinrad, Weber and Gelineau tones.)
Question for clarification that arise:
(1) In setting a certain psalm to a gregorian psalm tone, is there a fixed relationship of a given psalm (e.g. 110) to a particular gregorian mode? (i.e. Is psalm 109/110 always set to - say - Mode 7? or is Psalm 24 always set to Mode 4? etc.)
I suspect the answer is as complex as the question...
(2) Or does the mode for which the psalm text is set depend on the mode of the antiphon that precedes it?
(which i suspect is actually the case.)
e.g. the use of the ubiquitous vespers antiphon "Dixit Dóminus" (Mode VII) automatically makes psalm 109/110 Mode VII in its psalm tone.
(3) If that is the case - even if the antiphon Dixit Dóminus isn't used (as in Weeks I, II and IV of the current Liturgy of the Hours) - is psalm 109/110 always Mode VII?
(I suspect not, though...)
(4) Do the rules change when setting the Benedictus or Magnificat?
(e.g. Ought one use the 'tonus peregrinus' on occasion?)
Any comments / corrections / insights would be most appreciated.

Offertory Antiphon in Spanish for Laetare Sunday (4th Sunday of Lent)
I'm begging a favor of the Forum: I'm giving a workshop on Saturday, March 29th, at the conclusion of which I hope to have the attendees sing the Mass at the parish's normal Saturday evening Mass. This would be a typical Novus Ordo Mass in a typical parish. We're trying to demonstrate the range and depth of English propers that are available for choirs to sing, and it occurred to me that a Spanish Offertory would be quite nice and demonstrate that Spanish chanted propers are also possible, and desirable.
The only problem is, I can't find any. Does anyone have, or could anyone compose, a chanted setting of the Offertory for the 4th Sunday of Lent? As far as I can tell from the calendar, the (Latin) text of that would be "Illiumina oculos meos".
Many thanks!!!

Chants for Confirmation
Not that I plan on having need for this anytime soon, but I was curious about: what exactly are the Propers for a (Ordinary Form) Confirmation Mass with a bishop? I heard that there's a special set of Propers for a Confirmation Mass, but I can't find them anywhere. I'd like to have a copy of them to print and distribute to the members of a schola that I'm a part of.
